I went through the list of stock sent to MGS Auctions today. They wanted my price expectations. This isn’t a reserve as such, rather the target prices that would see me giving them more product to sell.
The target prices are well below cost, but at least it frees space in our warehouse and turns dead stock into cash for new stock.
Funny thing was talking to the warehouse guys at MGS, they were in a flap about booking my stuff into the general auction for Monday. I was talking to my sales contact who was telling me one thing, and the warehouse guys were telling me something totally different. So I knew my expectations were being massaged.
The cool thing is that the sales team want my business more than I want theirs. I don’t expect the auction to work wonders so if my expectations are exceeded I’ll be over the moon.

I think it would be great if we knew what you were selling, maybe someone out there could offer you a better deal.
