Anthony Robbins info hunters

Hello Australians looking information on Anthony Robbins. Leave a comment telling me what you’re looking for. Regular’s might get a kick out of this google.com.au search. I’m the top ranked site in Austalia for “Anthony Robbins”. How strange is that?

Disclosure: I have no affiliation whatsoever with Tony Robbins, Robbins Research, or Vision Pursuit. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Tony will be presenting Unleash the Power Within in Sydney on 26-29 September 2003. The Australian promoter is Vision Pursuit. I did Unleash The Power Within in 1999 or so. That firewalk is a mindblowing experience. Experienced firewalkers I know found the walk a bit short, but the coals were hot enough for me. Cool moss, cool moss, cool moss.

Yes I am a fan of Tony’s material and skills. But I don’t think I’m too rabid. Check out my critique on Wealth Mastery.

If you haven’t done a self improvement seminar there are tremendous practical skills at Unleash The Power Within. I’ve thought of re-doing it as a refresher.

Fair warning: the Robbins organisation are master sales people and exceptional trainers. Saying “no” to the cross-sell can be a challenge, but there are worse things to spend your money on than life-changing skills.

Some of you could learn the skills from Personal Power 2 on tape or CD [visionpursuit.com.au link]. But most people don’t learn fast enough that way; they are a good reinforcement of the course. You can also look for a good course on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) or Neuro-Associative Conditioning (NAC) — that’s Tony’s update on NLP. There is a audio program available from AnthonyRobbins.com

Do you need to do Unleash the Power Within (and then Mastery University) in order to be successful? No – Tony wasn’t around to teach Tony (or any of history’s other successes) in the beginning. If you are looking for a reason not to do it, I can’t help you – except to say the weekend is jammed full of experiential learning but introductory in nature. Implementing the skills is just as important as experiencing them in a weekend.

Hope this helps.

  1. Hi Paul!

I’m becoming more and more convinced that the whole “personal development” industry is just a bunch of P.T. Barnum style bunkum being peddled to people who are generally disillusioned with their lot in life and need something to “believe in”. It sometimes seems just one step above those dubious spam emails one gets promising to increase the size of one’s wedding tackle!!!

It seems to me that some people join the church, some people join a cult, some people believe in aliens and conspiracies and some people go along to personal development seminars :-).

I’ve been to a few introductory nights for various NLPesque practitioners (adam hudson and jamie mcintyre spring to mind). They all try to imitate TR right down to the tight black T shirt and head mike…but somehow just can’t pull it off (probably has something to do with Robbins being about half a foot taller and 100 pounds heavier than the wannabes…)

Most of it just seems to be recycled, repackaged pop-psychology and common-sense presented as some kind of secret information that only the rich and successful know…

Maybe I’m having a cynical day, but people should just rent a funny video if they want to be entertained and feel good about themselves. The firewalking metaphor is the prime example of the shallowness that’s being promoted. Let Tony walk across a plate of sheet metal heated to just a paltry 100 degrees celius compared with the 300-400 degrees for the bed of coals and I’ll agree there’s something in this personal mastery stuff!

    Glass half-empty signing off! 🙂

  2. I am mystified at the traffic from Anthony Robbins google searches. It represents 13.6% of my search engine hits!

I had a blah day myself and used some NLP techniques (pre-Tony Robbins) to turn my attitude around.

Those two things led to a bit more gushing than I intended.

Hooboy though! I am going to use your comments soon in a post.

  3. hi, could you please direct me to some book reviews …am looking for reviews of ‘notes from a friend’ specifically.. would like a balance of positive and negatives if possible! thanks!

  4. I just retured from UPW in Sydney 2004 and it was a life changing experience for me and my husband. I was “happy” about life before I atended however now I’m EXCITED about life, what it has to offer to me and what I have to offer to the world. God bless Tony for a gift that he has chosen to share to the world.

  5. If you want to learn about sales go to an Tony Robbins seminare and watch a master sell. The odd part about his seminares is the huge range of prices paid for courses, attendees sitting next to each other can pay $1000 of dollars different..seems to me thats a con job done by slick salesman..for thoes of you who get a big discount by joining mastery university i can tell you i have been to the same seminares for way less than you are paying…but dont fret caus the seminares with Tony live are worth whatever you paid! its odd though eh!

  6. I have experienced both. the crappy life with nothing to look forward to, and now the other side. I can say that things are happening now which is making life very interesting! 🙂
    1. Stuff the process, stuff the person who triggered it, etc. If the results are good, that’s all I need to know!
    2. for those who havent even attended and given it 100%? how on earth can you even comment on it??? It’s like someone giving their final opinion on chocolate when they haven’t even tasted it! Do you see how close minded and shallow that sounds??

  7. I have shied from The Forum and any cult like thing ever in my life, but Tony Robbins seemed to me quite genuine in his desire and ability to help. Unleash the Power Within is a very intense experience, and experiential. It was well worth the money, but luckily I did not aave to pay a vast fortune. I think the guy is very very good. He certainly reaches his audience. he is astoundingly generous with his time and has pretty amazing energy. Yes, tehre is a hardsell aspect to go on further courses, but one is enough to change things dramatically. What can you say about that, he is after all coming from American Infomercial land, it does not mean what he says is untrue. For me it made a huge difference in the way I loiok at all the areas of my life.

  8. People don’t complain about the negative stuff in life being programmed into our brains like negatives music, movies etc but as soon as someone tries to do something positive people complain. His books really cheer me up when I’m down, and he even says find what works for you.

  9. How can I email him directly so I can tell him how much he has inspired me in my life. I hope one day he recieves a nobel peace Prize.

  10. Does anyone know if UPW and Wealth Mastery costs are tax deductible in Australia ? After all, the course is helping us in our investments.

  11. I’ve taken NLP courses all the way to the Master Prac level and realized that it all boils down to two principles of living:

    1) Life is inherently meaningless other than the meaning you give to it. Think about that. Doesn’t that return power to you?

    2) Never put your life into “Someday” mode. Always make it “TODAY”

Basically, this is the great stuff you’ll pick up at a Tony Robbins workshop. Darned worth the money!

    Fly high!

  12. Download a few filesharing programs like Limewire, Bit-Torrent, hop on youtube, check out his website under the coaching section or something where he makes regular video blogs to people, download his free resources, try out his advice and suggestions and see what happens.

Don’t knock it before you try it and anyone who complains about spending too much money holds their wallet too losely anyways. Get whatever you can online for free, there are nearly infinate resources, I collect all sorts of audio books, videos, PDF files and more and they’re worth the money I paid… FREE. But If I had to I would pay for it.

As for the whole ‘Motivational Speaking Scam’ goes… I personally want to get up there and do exactly what Tony does, maybe with him someday and I will be the real deal. But conversely I won’t be charging anybody more money than what they need to pay. I know what it’s like to scavange around like a vulture so there is no way I could get to his level and ethically charge people a fortune for something that isn’t worth it. Any costs I do charge will go towards the resources for that person’s own education and development.

Ideally I’d like to create a system where nobody pays anything if they do not become successful. So if you learn this stuff, and your income doesn’t double and/or reach a agreed annual amount of income, you don’t pay. When your income gets to that amount and you are able to afford a $5,000 price tag, that’s when we exchange our thanks and keep working with you.
